Early voting opens in Buncombe County

Black Mountain Library among 12 locations to cast ballots in 2022 General Election

The early voting period for the 2022 General Election began, Oct. 20, as the Black Mountain Public Library is now one of 12 locations in Buncombe County allowing voters to cast ballots before the Tuesday, Nov. 8 Election Day.

The sites will operate from 8 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 29 and Sunday, Oct. 30 and 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 5. Buncombe residents may cast a ballot at any early voting site in the county.

Six early voting locations are operating in Asheville, with additional sites available in Candler, Leicester, Weaverville and Fairview.

County residents who missed the regular voter registration deadline may register and vote at the same time during the early voting period. Same-day registrants must attest to their eligibility and provide proof of where they live.
