The deadline to purchase wreaths and other holiday decorations to help support the Black Mountain Beautification Committee is Friday, Nov. 6.

The annual Holiday Greenery Sale, which raises money to support the local nonprofit organization’s annual holiday decorations throughout the town, features various wreaths, garland and hand-made red velvet bows.

Each year the beautification committee decorates the Welcome to Black Mountain signs at the entry points in town and the large rocking chairs in Town Square. The fundraiser allows the local community to purchase matching greenery, sourced from a local nursery, while supporting the committee’s holiday decoration efforts.

“What we try to do is raise enough money to be able to decorate the town,” said fundraiser chair Lori Pisani. “That helps us cover the costs without dipping into our own funds.”

The BMBC maintains and beautifies a wide range of sites throughout the town, year-round, with the help of more than 60 volunteers donating thousands of hours of work. Members of the committee craft that red bows that are commonly observed in local storefronts during the holiday season and available for purchase through the fundraiser.

“We have plain wreaths and others with mixed greens,” Pisani said. “We also have a wreath that is shaped like a candy cane, a small table wreath and 25- and 75-foot garland.”

The deadline to purchase greenery from the BMBC is Friday, Nov. 6. For more information or to place an order, visit blackmountainbeautification.org/greenery-fundraiser.
