The long-awaited Swannanoa Community Yard Sale is finally set to return, from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 25. The semiannual sale, sponsored by Friends and Neighbors of Swannanoa (FANS), always draws huge crowds of enthusiastic sellers and shoppers to the Swannanoa Ingles parking lot, 2299 U.S. 70.
The pandemic caused a long yard sale drought — closets and garages are overflowing, and folks are itching to get out and do some bargain hunting. Due to all the pent-up demand, the September yard sale is expected to be one of the biggest sales ever. With dozens of sellers participating, shoppers are sure to find plenty of treasures to choose from.
To reserve a seller space of approximately 10 feet by 15 feet, send an email to SwannanoaYardSale@gmail.com or call 828-581-9707. Spaces are $15 each, and there’s a two-space limit for each reservation. Participants must supply their own tables.
Payment for spaces is made in cash during registration on the morning of the sale. Any applicable COVID-19 protocols in effect at the time of the sale will be followed.
All proceeds from seller spaces help support Friends and Neighbors of Swannanoa — an all-volunteer nonprofit organization — and the Swannanoa community. To learn more about FANS, visit www.SwannanoaFANS.org.
