The music continues at Bloom WNC, at 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 20, when Cast Iron Bluegrass taking the stage—or in the case of this rustic venue, a flat place in the grass amid the flowers.
Tickets for this concert are $15 and can be purchased online at farmerfloristbloom.com.
Farm owner Abigail Moffitt has opened part of her property to local musicians this season to support these talented performers and give audiences a safe place to gather outdoors.
Cast Iron Bluegrass is comprised of five Western North Carolina residents who love traditional bluegrass music. Lead singer and guitar player Rob Sine, who moved to the area from Pennsylvania, is a special education administrator during the day.
Banjo player Andrew Blythe, a native North Carolinian, is a graduate of East Tennessee State University's bluegrass program. Another native North Carolinian is fiddler John Duncan, who performs professionally with a number of groups, including Kristy Cox. New Hampshire native Nick Dauphinais, guitar player with the Larry Stephenson Band, plays mandolin with the group, and bass player Celia Millington-Wyckoff also moved to the area from Pennsylvania, with the goal of playing lots of bluegrass music in retirement.
Singer/songwriter Zach Briggs will open the show.
Guests should bring a chair and, if they want, a picnic. Also available at the farm for this concert will be Ole Guacomole’s Taco Bar. The $15 taco bar will be first come-first serve, prior to the concert. Please no dogs at the farm and do not arrive prior to 5 p.m.
This is the fifth in a series of evening concerts on the farm with talented bluegrass musicians. The next concert is scheduled for September 10 featuring Andrew Finn Magill. For more information email abigail@farmerfloristbloom.com.
