An evening of old-time bluegrass music surrounded by mountains in a gorgeous outdoor setting is coming to Bloom WNC’s specialty cut flower farm off North Fork Road in Black Mountain, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Friday, May 21, when Drew Matulich and Friends take the stage.
The combo is made up of Matulich on mandolin and vocals; Nick Dauphinais on guitar and vocals; James Schlender on fiddle and Celia Millington Wyckoff on bass.
Matulich is the guitarist with the progressive bluegrass group, The Gina Furtado Project, and Dauphinais performs with The Larry Stephenson Band. Schlender, a two time National Fiddle Champion, plays with the Asheville-based group Songs from the Road Band and Wyckoff is a roving bass player who performs with a number of Asheville bluegrass combos.
Singer-songwriter and guitarist Zach Briggs will open the show with a handful of original songs.
Bring a chair and refreshments, settle back and enjoy the show. Parking is limited, so carpool with friends if possible. Due to gathering limitations, tickets must be purchased in advance of the show.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased through the events page at Bloom WNC’s website at farmerfloristbloom.com.
Bloom WNC will host its next show, featuring Trifecta, Friday, June 25. For more information visit the Bloom WNC website, call 828-450-2801 or email abigail@farmerfloristbloom.com.
