A Thanksgiving message from Black Mountain Mayor Larry Harris
Americans have set aside a national time of thanksgiving and eventually a Thanksgiving holiday that has been honored and/or celebrated during times of the Spanish Flu pandemic, wars, depressions, and racial strife and cultural change over the centuries. We should not be surprised that 2021 gave us a taste of the difficult things that generations before us experienced. Indeed, it has been a very controversial 2021.
I hope this holiday season brings a time for those of faith to gather and thank their God for his mercy and provision. A time for those who mourn the loss of loved ones to heal. A time of hope for those who need recovery from financial loss or ruin. We can all pray for a season of reconciliation and understanding in so many places and spaces in our civic life.
Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless.
Larry B. Harris
Mayor, Town of Black Mountain
