  Emlenton Pool

The Butler County Parks and Recreation is having their 10th annual Lifeguarding Competition and Emlenton has been graciously invited to join. This is Emlenton's first time entering in a competition to show what they know and they excited to take part in such a big deal. Butler normally only invites local pools from Butler, Allegheny, Armstrong, and Mercer Counties; this year they extended that to Venango County your favorite local pool was the first to receive this great hono. Caitlin Girard, Brooke Fair, and James Gillen/Ryan Ashbaugh are excited to show what they know. The events that they will be competing in are: a lifeguard written test, CPR, treading water shile supporting a wighted breick, a three person tow to see who can pull the fastest, a 50 meter rescue approach, back boarding a spinal infury in the shallow end, tug-o-war in the deep ind, and last the obstacle course.

This is a guaranteed morning of fun so come support your local lifeguards and pool as they compete in their first competition. The competition is on Saturday July 25th starting at 8:00 am. The competition is held annually at the Butler County Parks and Recreation Alameda Pool, 184 Alameda Park Rd. Butler, PA 16001. It is free for spectators so come and cheer for your hometown team...the Emlenton Pool.
